Frequently asked questions
Product-Specific Questions
What makes the Smart Drip different from the Essential Drip ?
It offers the same 7-stage RO purification but includes a digital LED display and faucet for filter life monitoring and a compact design that saves space under the sink.
What does this system remove ?
- Stages 1–4 (Combined): A 4‑layer CF filter made of polypropylene sediment, carbon block ( CTO), anti‑scale media, and calcium sulfite balls. These stages work together to remove sand, silt, dirt, rust, chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and scaling minerals, protecting the system and preparing the water for purification.
- Stage 5: 100 GPD RO membrane. Removes dissolved solids, heavy metals, microplastics, bacteria, and viruses, making the water safe to drink.
- Stages 6–7 (Combined): A 2‑layer CB filter made of CTO carbon and mineral/alkaline ceramic balls. Removes remaining chemicals, enhances taste, balances pH, and adds essential minerals for a smoother drinking experience.
Is the Smart Drip suitable for apartments, townhouses, and villas ?
Yes, it works in any home with an under‑sink connection.
What does the Smart Drip come with ?
It comes with a 7‑stage filtration system, compact housing, built‑in pump and 3L tank, digital LED display, all tubing and fittings, and a dedicated premium drinking faucet with an LED display.
How do I know if the filter is working ?
The faucet display shows real-time unfiltered TDS, filtered TDS, and alerts when a filter needs to be replaced. The system’s LED panel also shows real‑time filter life so you always know if the unit is working properly.
Water Quality and Taste
How should I expect my water to taste after filtration ?
You should expect light , smooth, and neutral tasting water.
How does this system improve taste?
The 2nd stage (GAC) reduces chlorine and chemical odors, while the 3rd stage (CTO) improves taste and reduces metallic notes. The RO membrane then removes dissolved impurities that affect flavor, giving you clean, smooth-tasting water.
Does the system reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) ?
Yes. The RO membrane reduces TDS to around 20 to 30 ppm, giving you clean purified drinking water. For context, bottled water usually ranges from 100 to 150 ppm, which means the Smart Drip delivers water with up to five times fewer dissolved solids.
Does water filtration strip essential minerals from water ?
RO removes most dissolved minerals, but the 7th stage (mineral filter) adds back essential minerals to give the water a balanced, healthy mineral profile.
Does filtered water make my coffee taste better?
Yes. The 2nd stage removes chlorine and odors, the 4th stage (RO membrane) removes dissolved solids that cause bitterness, and the 6th stage (alkaline filter) slightly raises the pH to help coffee extract more evenly and taste more balanced.
Is the filtered water suitable for baby formula ?
Yes. RO water is purified and suitable for mixing baby formula.
Installation
Where is the system installed ?
It is installed under the kitchen sink and connected to a dedicated drinking-water faucet.
Will the system require drilling ?
Yes. A small hole is required for the dedicated drinking-water faucet unless an existing opening is available.
Does the installation require any piping modifications ?
No. We only connect the system to your existing cold-water line using the provided fittings, without modifying or cutting any pipes.
How long does installation take ?
Installation usually takes between 1 to 1.5 hours.
Is it normal for the water to look cloudy or slightly discolored right after installation ?
Yes. This can happen due to harmless carbon dust from the new GAC and CTO filters, as well as air bubbles in the RO membrane. After a short flush, the water usually clears within 30 minutes to an hour.
Maintenance
How often do the filters need to be replaced ?
Typically , all filters need to be replaced every 3 months, while the RO needs to be replaced every 6 months to maintain performance. This may defer depending on your water usage.
How long does a maintenance visit take ?
Maintenance usually takes 30 minutes.
Is maintenance included ?
Maintenance is typically chargeable unless you purchase an annual maintenance package with your filtration system.
How will I know when it is time to replace the filters?
We keep track of your replacement schedule and contact you when your next visit is due. You may also schedule a maintenance visit on our website if you notice a reduction in water pressure or a change in the taste and odor of your water.
